無無謂謂一場戲
末日最大的恐懼並不在於終結
而是原來從來一無所有
Preaching to the choir
A stupid film, but plays well to a receptive crowd.
Father Foster is great nontheless.
Im Winter ein Jahr
(A Year Ago in Winter)
I seldom view German movies, and indeed there's not much chance to view German films in hong kong. In the few occassions I see German films, they are on grand themes like the World War or Communism or alike. This is the first time I have the opportunity to see a 'small story' German film (which btw lasts for 129 minus nonetheless). Unlike perhaps a French would handle such stories, the German film is passoniate yet within the realm of logic. It have a full ending with characters fully developed, although the main focus of the film is always on the feelings. Watching the film, I can't help but felt a resemblence to a German philosophical system - a nice complete universe with all its components having its alloted place. Being sensible and possible, the film is touchingly persuasive. The solo dance by the leading actress near the end of the film is paticularly powerful, which for a guy who know nothing about dancing still could feel all its force. Recommended, and pity that I only went to the last show.
